A refreshing, naturally sweet beverage made by pressing fresh sugarcane stalks, often enhanced with ginger and lime.
Why it's healthy
Sugarcane juice is a source of immediate energy due to its high content of sucrose, a natural sugar the body can quickly absorb. It's a hydrating beverage, rich in electrolytes like potassium, magnesium, and calcium, which are essential for muscle function and maintaining fluid balance. The juice contains antioxidants, specifically flavonoids and phenolic compounds, which help combat oxidative stress. When prepared with ginger and lime, it gains additional benefits: ginger provides anti-inflammatory gingerols, and lime contributes a significant amount of Vitamin C, an antioxidant that supports the immune system. Its alkaline nature may help balance the body's pH levels.
