A refreshing and savory yogurt-based drink from the Indian subcontinent, seasoned with salt and roasted cumin.
Why it's healthy
Salted Lassi is a nourishing beverage primarily due to its yogurt base, which is a rich source of probiotics that support gut health and aid digestion. It provides high-quality protein, essential for muscle repair and satiety, along with significant amounts of calcium and phosphorus, which are vital for maintaining strong bones and teeth. The drink also acts as a natural hydrator, replenishing electrolytes like sodium and potassium lost through sweat, making it excellent for hot climates. The addition of cumin is not just for flavor; it is traditionally recognized for its digestive properties, helping to stimulate enzyme secretion.
