A refreshing and cooling yogurt-based drink blended with fresh mint leaves, perfect for hot days and aiding digestion.
Why it's healthy
Mint Lassi is a healthful beverage primarily due to its yogurt base, which is a rich source of probiotics that support gut health and digestion. The yogurt also provides high-quality protein, essential for muscle maintenance, and significant amounts of calcium and phosphorus, which are vital for strong bones and teeth. Fresh mint is known for its digestive properties, helping to soothe the stomach and alleviate indigestion. It also contains menthol, which provides its characteristic cooling sensation. This drink hydrates the body effectively while delivering key nutrients, making it a much healthier alternative to processed, sugar-laden soft drinks.
Ingredients
1 cup plain yogurt, preferably whole milk
1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, packed
1/2 cup cold water
1 tbsp sugar, or to taste
1/4 tsp roasted cumin powder (optional)
1 pinch black salt (kala namak) or regular salt
