Dry Garlic Chutney

Serves 4 · Prep 2 min · Cook 3 min · 31 calories per serving

A spicy and pungent dry chutney made from garlic, red chilies, and coconut, perfect for sprinkling over snacks like Vada Pav.

Why it's healthy

This chutney offers concentrated nutritional benefits from its core ingredients. Garlic is renowned for allicin, a compound linked to improved heart health and immune function. Dried red chilies provide capsaicin, which may boost metabolism and has anti-inflammatory properties, along with a significant amount of Vitamin A. The desiccated coconut and peanuts contribute healthy monounsaturated fats, dietary fiber for digestive health, and plant-based protein. While high in flavor, it is used in small quantities, making it an effective way to add nutrients and taste to meals without excessive calories, provided salt levels are managed.
