Bhel Puri

Serves 2 · Prep 10 min · 360 calories per serving

A popular Indian savory snack made with puffed rice, vegetables, and tangy tamarind sauce.

Why it's healthy

Bhel Puri offers a healthier profile compared to many deep-fried snacks. Its base of puffed rice is low in calories and fat. The generous addition of fresh, raw vegetables like onions and tomatoes provides dietary fiber, which aids digestion, along with essential vitamins like Vitamin C and antioxidants. The green chutney, made from coriander and mint, contributes micronutrients and is known for its digestive properties. While the sev and papdi add some fat, the overall dish is dominated by lighter, fresher components, making it a balanced and flavorful snack choice that satisfies cravings without being overly heavy.
